About the Project

EUdocS aims to contribute to the larger field of security policies in Europe and explores the specific conditions under which security in urban environments is achieved. It takes a multidisciplinary approach that brings together political science, criminology, urban sociology, as well as architecture and engineering. This is mirrored in the intersectionality of the project: It will engage with policy makers and administrations at all levels, from the supra-national to the local, with criminal justice agencies, business, town planning, the building sector, engineering and ordinary citizens. The project is designed directly to feed into the knowledge transfer process in a highly complex field at the intersection of supra-national and national standardisation, local policy making, security policies and policing, as well as industries and building professions.
